SCIENCE 1: HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT?
An environmental engineer placed a tide chart over a 4 day radon test. High and Low tide matched high and low radon, nearly to the minute.
This prompted the effort to design a cyclone separator that would naturally extract radon as it passed through ventilation duct work.
A TV news story about carbon monoxide killing hotel guests prompted a carbon monoxide test of the vortex extraction device. Dramatic success prompted research to find why lighter CO gas was removed by the cyclone.
This led to the discovery of air friction static charging of the cyclone air stream and the container funnel wall creating an electrostatic separator, that preferentially removed charged contaminants.
Further research identified electromagnetic forces enhancing contaminant removal. Adding electronic components and permanent magnets increased the clean air benefits and improved the oxygen content in the clean air stream.
A retired professor from JPL/NASA/CALTECH reviewed the design and coined the name from the underlying physics:
“LOW ENERGY AERODYNAMIC PLASMA FRICTION RESPONSE OXYGEN GENERATOR.”

ALPHA PARTICLE RADIATION:
One gram of Radium produces 37 billion high energy Alpha particles, every second.
One gram of radon emits 110,000 times the high energy alpha particles as compared to radium (4.07 million-billion particles per second!) Upon being inhaled, radon enters the blood stream becoming more than 1000 times as deadly as the same mass of weapons grade plutonium outside the body (per Jefferson National Laboratory.)
ALPHA RADIATION DAMAGE:
The internal degenerative damage from radon has been linked to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, male infertility, leukemia, and cataracts (partial list.)
When the extraction design effort began a decade ago, the developer was only aware of a possible link to lung cancer. After the patent was issued in 2018, the list of medical arguments supporting radon extraction had increased more than ten fold.

MICROBE AND PATHOGEN DESTRUCTION:
Along with broad spectrum contaminant removal, the electromagnetic forces at work in this process will likely induce Coulombic destruction of COVID-19 and other airborne pathogens. The 400 volt, 200 mA static charge of the airstream creates repulsive forces that tear apart microbes and viruses. This electro-mechanical explosion force will likely kill all pathogens, including HIV and "hospital super bugs."

Comparing the Alpha Particles released from Radon, to the Alpha Radiation from radium
(Ra-226) and weapons grade plutonium, (Pu-239) finds radon the most radioactive. Radon generates 110,000 times more Alpha Radiation as the same mass of radium, and 2.5 million times the same mass of plutonium. This is a subatomic buzz saw of high velocity alpha particles moving at 5% of the speed of light (33.5 million miles per hour.)

Realizing gaseous radon can be inhaled without detection, possibly passing quickly into the brain blood stream through sinus membranes, prompted a literature search for potential brain damage.

These Bio-markers were identified in the brain of Dr. Alzheimer's first patient, when he performed an autopsy in 1907. However, this far predated the understanding that radon gas is a global soil contaminant, potentially entering any ground contact building.

In 1900, most scientists thought radon was isolated within uranium mines in central Europe. Extensive testing has found radon present on every continent, and in every country of the world. Water soluble uranium and radium minerals are dispersed globally in sedimentary soil. Therefore radon can migrate into any ground contact building. Climate, and local geology can impact the migration of radon gas. Weather variability makes radon migration difficult to understand and hard to predict.

Sci. 5.0: MAD COW PRIONS?
Looking through a microscope can be baffling. What toxic chemicals or pathogens caused the tissue damage? Current science postulates that a disease causing protein (Prion) triggers healthy proteins in the brain to fold irregularly.

ANOTHER HYPOTHESIS? Radon gas inhalation and ballistic fragmentation from high energy alpha particle radiation. Examination of the “folded proteins” shows evidence of fragmentation. Alpha particle direction from blood borne radon gas will be random resulting in irregular “folds" or breaks in the proteins. The prion protein may be the aftermath of millions of subatomic collisions at 33.5 million miles per hour. A 1.0 mm bubble of radon gas will generate 20 billion alpha particles per second for several days. This number of high velocity particles would break up and heat up tissue into unrecognizable form. The Prion may be formed by radiation burns, instead of the cause of the irregular "folded" (or fragmented) proteins.
The fact that radium is found globally in surface soil is a red flag. The fact that 1 gram of radium generates 37 billion radon atoms per second is another red flag.

The fact that this ubiquitous, odorless, invisible soil gas can be inhaled without detection and migrate into the human or animal bloodstream, and randomly release alpha particles exploding at 33.5 million MPH through brain cells and organ tissue is another red flag.
Radon’s gaseous mobility and tiny painless subatomic bullets enables this carcinogen to move throughout the victims body with a destructive trail that slowly dismantles the miracle of life itself. Fortunately, it is so heavy, most of it stays close to the ground. But humans and grazing livestock will find this destructive toxin in the air they breath. Brain cell and nerve damage from the “Ballistic Fragmentation of alpha radiation” could be linked to radon gas inhalation among humans and grazing livestock. Blood borne radon, and alpha radiation could contribute to central nervous system degeneration found in several animal conditions, including Mad Cow, Deer and Chronic Wasting Disease, and Scrapie among sheep and goats. The synergy of leapfrog design came from multiple mistakes, while attempting to develop a "Spin Extractor" for heavy radon gas.
Mistake One:
A miscalculation of the molecular weight of carbon monoxide (as heavier than oxygen) led to a vortex test to see if CO extraction was possible.
Dramatic CO extraction (Jan 2015) forced review revealing CO to be lighter than oxygen. Air friction charging seemed involved. Extraction diminished with increasing temperature and humidity (consistent with electro static phenomena.)
A Low cost ($5) DC (direct current) power supply (converting 5 volts to 400 volts) was connected to sheet metal hoops placed in the vortex tube (June 2015.) This energized the airstream, enhancing static charging of particulate, and ion separation in all seasons.
Mistake Two:
This “Electrostatic vortex” might pull oxygen out of the air.
This concern forced oxygen testing which revealed a slight increase (~4000 ppm O2) in the "cleaned air stream." Study revealed oxygen to be paramagnetic (attracted by magnetic fields.)
As the patent application was submitted in January 2016, I instructed my attorney to add a permanent magnet ring around the vortex tube. The attorney said "No! Not without retesting!" I repeated a four day test and found oxygen was consistently increased about 4000 parts per million.
Mistake Three:
I wanted the magnet to avoid possible oxygen reduction. I did not realize the magnet would repel and reduce all charged particles (including ionized gases, microbes, viruses, and high energy Alpha Radiation.)
A three year struggle with the patent office ended with a successful patent issued in August 2018.
